Mission of VCA

Vashi Cultural Association is a charitable, non-profit organization, serving all the communities across Navi Mumbai since its inception in 2005. We are dedicated to promote Bengali and Indian culture in Navi Mumbai and neighboring areas. We foster the spirit of sharing within the local community, while reaching out when needed to the poor & downtrodden across Navi Mumbai & surroundings.

Objectives

  • To help promote Indian culture (with a special focus on Bengali culture) within the local Navi Mumbai populace, regardless of ethnicity and religion.
  • To help preserve the strong cultural and social heritage of India and especially West Bengal.
  • To foster the spirit of sharing within the local community, while reaching out when needed to the poverty stricken across Navi Mumbai.

The road ahead

  • Organizing more cultural events each year.
  • Inviting nationally acclaimed singers, musicians, poets to help popularize the Bengali and Indian language and culture.
  • Whenever possible, react rapidly to any natural disasters or prominent social needs - be it floods or earthquake.

Size

Through its various social and cultural activities, VCA has grown each year and now touches the lives of over 1000 families in the Vashi & surrounding areas. Our various charitable efforts have helped make a significant difference in the lives of thousands of people below the poverty line.

Future Plans

  • To streamline our methods towards significantly increasing our contributions for disaster reliefs and charitable causes.
  • Raise resources to help build a permanent Office & a small auditorium enabling to host its yearly events.
  • To organize bigger & better cultural programs celebrating the social fabric of the Bengali community as a whole across Navi Mumbai.
